One day, a group of car friends decided to go up to Helen, Ga, to check out the scenery. After seeing the sights, eating great food, and doing research to set up an event in the town, they headed home. On the way, Helen Import Day was created. Getting more friends together, take the cars on the mountain roads and descend on the beautiful Alpine Village of Helen.
They set the date for August 9th, giving them 28 days to promote and set up the event. The morning of the event, they knew the parking lot of the Helendorf Inn was too small. With many supporters and Helen’s authorities on hand, the event quickly came together on Main Street. It was a great turn out and the group of friends decided to do it again in 2015.
